Verify proof of payment: a pre-delivery checklist
Before fulfilling a WhatsApp or online order, open your merchant workspace yourself and check the transaction. A screenshot supplied by the customer is not enough. Use this checklist to keep your checks consistent.

A worked example
Fictional example: a customer sends a screenshot for a 15,000 XOF order through WhatsApp. Your merchant workspace still shows that reference as pending. Keep the order on hold and check with the provider before delivery.
Scope and limitations
This checklist organizes your checks; it does not certify payment. A confirmed payment may still be subject to refunds, disputes or controls depending on the method. Payment status and settlement to your account are separate stages. Never ask a customer to share an OTP or PIN.

Move from manual tracking to a merchant workspace
ZyndPay payment links let you share a checkout page and then follow its status in your merchant workspace. For integrated stores, signed webhooks support server-side tracking. You can share a link through WhatsApp; this does not imply native WhatsApp payments.
Frequently asked questions
Is a payment screenshot enough?
No. It may be edited, old or associated with another transaction. Check the transaction in your own provider workspace.
Can I send a payment link through WhatsApp?
Yes, a link can be shared as a URL. The customer pays on the provider’s page using the methods available there. This is not necessarily a native WhatsApp payment.
What if the customer was charged but the payment is pending?
Do not immediately ask for a second payment. Keep the references and contact the provider’s support to establish the outcome before retrying.
