USDCStablecoin payments
Your customers pay in USDT or USDC while you price and keep your accounts in MZN. The checkout shows the asset, network, amount and address for each payment, and your merchant workspace tracks its confirmation. Assets, networks and limits depend on your account and its verification.

The customer sees the asset, network, amount and address to use. Sending on the wrong network can lose funds.
Fulfil only when the payment shows confirmed in your merchant workspace, never on the strength of a screenshot.
Stablecoins are designed to track the US dollar but can deviate. They carry issuer, market and network risks and are not bank deposits.
Register your business in Mozambique and complete the required verification. Enabled features appear in your workspace.
Generate a link, a checkout or an API payment for the order amount.
The customer sends the exact asset on the stated network to the address shown for that payment.
Track the confirmation in your merchant workspace, then process the order.
Mozambique’s national currency is the metical (MZN). The Banco de Moçambique is the central bank, and its stated main objective is preserving that currency. Its Governor decides the characteristics and face value of metical notes and coins. If stablecoin payments are enabled for your account, your customers pay in USDT or USDC while you keep setting prices, issuing invoices and keeping your accounts in MZN terms. Decide how you convert an MZN price into a stablecoin amount when the order is created, and record that reference with the sale.
Banco de Moçambique Notice No. 4/GBM/2023 of 14 September 2023 sets minimum requirements for registering virtual asset service providers. The central bank works under Law No. 14/2023 of 28 August on preventing money laundering and terrorist financing. In 2023 it also included virtual asset service providers among the supervised institutions invited to its sector risk assessment. Before you start, check with the Banco de Moçambique or a local adviser whether any of these rules apply to the way your business takes stablecoin payments.
The Banco de Moçambique says it must make sure obliged institutions comply with the legislation on preventing money laundering, terrorist financing and proliferation financing. Whatever your own status, keep a complete trail for every stablecoin sale: the MZN price, the asset and network, the amount received, the transaction reference and the order it settles. Be cautious if a customer asks to split a payment, pays from an unrelated party, or overpays and wants the difference sent elsewhere. For tax treatment and reporting, check with the Autoridade Tributária de Moçambique or your accountant.
Release goods or services only once the payment shows as confirmed in your workspace. A screenshot, a transaction hash pasted in a chat or a message saying the transfer is on its way is not enough. Check that the asset and network match the checkout before you act. If you need to refund, return the funds in the same asset and on the same network, to an address the customer confirms in writing. Record the refund against the original MZN order so your books and any dispute stay consistent.
These Banco de Moçambique sources describe Mozambique’s currency and its rules on virtual asset service providers and anti-money laundering. They do not establish a ZyndPay licence, partnership, regulatory approval, or availability for your account.
