Stablecoin payments

Your prices in local currency.

Your customers pay in USDT or USDC while you price and keep your accounts in XOF. The checkout shows the asset, network, amount and address for each payment, and your merchant workspace tracks its confirmation. Assets, networks and limits depend on your account and its verification.

01

Link, checkout or API

Share a payment link, redirect to a hosted page or create payments through the API from your own site.

02

Exact instructions for every payment

The customer sees the asset, network, amount and address to use. Sending on the wrong network can lose funds.

03

Confirmation tracking

Fulfil only when the payment shows confirmed in your merchant workspace, never on the strength of a screenshot.

04

Know the risks

Stablecoins are designed to track the US dollar but can deviate. They carry issuer, market and network risks and are not bank deposits.

Taking stablecoin payments in Niger: the BCEAO's crypto-asset position and practical checks

Niger uses the West African CFA franc (XOF), issued by the Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO) for the member states of the West African Monetary Union. If stablecoin payments are enabled for your account, your customer pays in USDT or USDC while your business keeps setting prices, issuing invoices and keeping its books in XOF terms. Decide how you will record the XOF value of each sale and each refund before you share a payment link, and apply that method consistently across orders.

01

Follow the BCEAO's position on crypto-assets

At a conference in Dakar on 8 May 2026, the BCEAO Governor drew attention to the risks of crypto-assets, including their high volatility, their cross-border dimension, cybersecurity, consumer protection and the fight against money laundering. He also said the BCEAO has set up a committee to draft the regulatory framework for crypto-assets in the UMOA, of which Niger is a member. Treat stablecoins as a payment method carrying issuer, market and network risk, not as a bank deposit, and follow BCEAO announcements for changes that may affect your business.

02

Know where receiving payment ends and a regulated service begins

The UMOA uniform anti-money-laundering law, adopted on 31 March 2023 and published by the BCEAO, lists virtual asset service providers among the entities it covers and says no one may carry out that activity professionally without prior approval or authorisation from the competent authority. It defines that activity as acting for a client, for example exchanging virtual assets for fiat currency, transferring them or holding them. If your business plans to offer any such service, rather than only receiving payment for its own sales, check with the competent authorities in Niger or a qualified adviser first.

03

Fulfil only after confirmation in your workspace

Release goods or services only once the payment shows as confirmed in your ZyndPay workspace. A screenshot, a transaction hash pasted in a chat or a message saying the transfer is done is not proof of payment. Before fulfilling, check that the asset and network match what the checkout displayed. If you need to refund, send back the same asset on the same network to an address the customer confirms, and keep the order reference together with the XOF value you recorded for the sale.

These BCEAO sources describe Niger's currency and the regional framework for crypto-assets and virtual asset service providers. They do not establish a ZyndPay licence, partnership, regulatory approval, or availability for your account.

FAQ

Your questions. Answered.

Can a business in Niger accept USDT with ZyndPay?

If stablecoin payments are enabled for your account after verification, you can create USDT and USDC links, checkouts or API payments. Availability depends on your account and the checks that apply.

Do my customers in Niger need a ZyndPay account?

No. Customers pay from the wallet of their choice, following the asset, network and address shown on the payment page.

How do I price in XOF?

You keep your prices and accounts in XOF. The stablecoin amount to pay is shown to the customer before payment; check the terms and fees in your workspace before you start.

How do refunds work?

Refund in the same asset and on the same network, to an address the customer confirms. Keep the reference of the original payment.

Is Niger's currency shared with other countries?

Yes. The BCEAO states that the West African Monetary Union shares one currency, the CFA franc, whose issue is entrusted to the BCEAO, and lists Niger among its members with Benin, Burkina, Côte d'Ivoire, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Senegal and Togo.

Who is preparing crypto-asset rules that would apply in Niger?

On 8 May 2026, the BCEAO said it had set up a committee to draft the regulatory framework for crypto-assets in the UMOA, which includes Niger. Check the BCEAO website for the current status rather than relying on a summary.
