Stablecoin payments

Your prices in local currency.

Your customers pay in USDT or USDC while you price and keep your accounts in XOF. The checkout shows the asset, network, amount and address for each payment, and your merchant workspace tracks its confirmation. Assets, networks and limits depend on your account and its verification.

01

Link, checkout or API

Share a payment link, redirect to a hosted page or create payments through the API from your own site.

02

Exact instructions for every payment

The customer sees the asset, network, amount and address to use. Sending on the wrong network can lose funds.

03

Confirmation tracking

Fulfil only when the payment shows confirmed in your merchant workspace, never on the strength of a screenshot.

04

Know the risks

Stablecoins are designed to track the US dollar but can deviate. They carry issuer, market and network risks and are not bank deposits.

How it works

03

The customer pays in stablecoins

The customer sends the exact asset on the stated network to the address shown for that payment.

04

Reconcile and fulfil

Track the confirmation in your merchant workspace, then process the order.

Taking USDT and USDC payments in Senegal: what to check first

Senegal is a member of the West African Monetary Union (UMOA), whose common currency, the CFA franc (XOF), is issued by the Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO). If stablecoin payments are enabled for your account, your customers pay in USDT or USDC while your business keeps setting prices, issuing invoices and keeping its books in XOF terms. Decide how you convert each order total before you share a payment link, record that XOF reference with the order, and treat the stablecoin amount shown at checkout as the amount your customer must send.

01

Know what the BCEAO has said about crypto-assets

At a conference held in Dakar on 8 May 2026, the BCEAO Governor pointed to the risks of crypto-assets, including high volatility, their cross-border nature, cybersecurity, consumer protection and anti-money-laundering concerns. He said the BCEAO has set up a committee to draft a regulatory framework for crypto-assets in the UMOA, and Senegal’s Minister of Finance called for rules that balance innovation, financial stability, transaction security and consumer protection. Rules may change, so follow official updates and tell customers plainly that stablecoins are not XOF and are not bank deposits.

02

Understand the anti-money-laundering framework

The UMOA uniform anti-money-laundering law, adopted by the Union’s Council of Ministers on 31 March 2023 and published by the BCEAO, states that no one may carry on the professional activity of a virtual asset service provider without prior approval or authorisation from the competent authority. Accepting payment for your own goods is not the same activity as exchanging or holding assets for others, but check with a qualified adviser how Senegal’s national rules apply to your business. In any case, complete your account verification (KYB) and keep each order’s customer details, XOF price, asset, network and transaction reference.

03

Confirm before you fulfil, refund like for like

Fulfil an order only after the payment shows as confirmed in your ZyndPay workspace. A screenshot, a forwarded message or a transaction ID sent by a customer is not proof of payment. Before refunding, check the asset and network of the original payment, then refund in the same asset on the same network to an address the customer confirms: funds sent on the wrong network may not be recoverable. Write your refund and dispute terms in XOF terms so customers in Senegal know how a price difference will be handled.

These sources describe Senegal’s currency and the regional regulatory context, as published by the BCEAO and Senegal’s Ministry of Finance and Budget. They do not establish a ZyndPay licence, partnership, regulatory approval, or availability for your account.

FAQ

Your questions. Answered.

Can a business in Senegal accept USDT with ZyndPay?

If stablecoin payments are enabled for your account after verification, you can create USDT and USDC links, checkouts or API payments. Availability depends on your account and the checks that apply.

Do my customers in Senegal need a ZyndPay account?

No. Customers pay from the wallet of their choice, following the asset, network and address shown on the payment page.

How do I price in XOF?

You keep your prices and accounts in XOF. The stablecoin amount to pay is shown to the customer before payment; check the terms and fees in your workspace before you start.

How do refunds work?

Refund in the same asset and on the same network, to an address the customer confirms. Keep the reference of the original payment.

What is the official currency for pricing in Senegal?

The BCEAO describes the West African Monetary Union, which includes Senegal, as sharing a single monetary unit, the CFA franc (XOF), whose issuance is entrusted to the BCEAO. USDT and USDC are not that currency, so keep quoting and recording prices in XOF and treat stablecoins as the payment method your customer chooses.

Is there a dedicated crypto-asset regulation for Senegal yet?

At its 8 May 2026 conference in Dakar, the BCEAO said it had set up a committee to develop a regulatory framework for crypto-assets in the UMOA. The UMOA uniform anti-money-laundering law already covers virtual asset service providers. Check the BCEAO and Senegalese authorities for later developments.
